Looking for community events in the Newnan area? Check out the local Farmer’s Market at Asa M. Powell Expo Center weekly on Saturdays. The Coweta County Farmer’s Market offers locally grown fruits, vegetables, honey, and fresh cut flowers. On Saturdays, the Farmer’s Market is located at the Asa M. Powell Sr. Expo Center at 197 Temple Avenue in Newnan. It is open from 9 am to 1 pm.produce.
Who doesn’t enjoy a little outdoor music? Stop by this local event called Pickin’ On The Square in Downtown Newnan. It is offered on the first and third Saturday of the month around the Court House Square in downtown Newnan. It also occurs simultaneously with the Market Day every first Saturday from April to December. Here, you can expect to enjoy the vernacular sounds of local musicians playing acoustic music around the Court House Lawn. Any musician with an acoustic instrument is invited to join and play at their own accord. All music genres and skill levels are welcome. In the past, Blue Grass musicians have found opportunity to be especially appealing!
Saturday evening may find you flashing back to the 70’s with the ABBA Tribute at The Centre
“Thank you for the Music – A Modern Tribute to ABBA” takes you back to the ‘70s with powerful harmonies, ABBA’s signature synchronized dance moves, and unforgettable hits like “Dancing Queen,” “Mamma Mia,” “Waterloo,” and “Take a Chance on Me.” The show is set for Saturday, Aug. 20 at 7 pm at The Centre for Performing and Visual Arts located at 1523 Lower Fayetteville Road in Newnan.
